IIEC

IIEC
The Instituto de Investigaciones y Experiencias Cinematográficas (Institute for Film Research and Experiment) was set up by the Vice-Secretariat of Popular Education in 1947, as part of the Franco regime's attempt to control all aspects of cultural life. Like many institutions of Francoism, it went beyond the original intentions of the government, and it was the training-ground for many of the most creative and adventurous film directors produced in Spain.
